Supply Chain Magazine Netherlands covers numi
On May 28, 2026, Supply Chain Magazine Netherlands published an article about numi and our development from AI-driven point solutions into a modular supply chain planning and execution platform. The original Dutch article can be read here: Numi Solutions integreert AI-puntoplossingen in volwaardig planningsplatform.
The article is based on an interview with numi co-founder Stefan Gaubatz. During the interview, he discussed numi's evolution from its first AI-powered solutions for operational supply chain challenges to today's modular supply chain planning and execution platform. The article provides insights into the company's origins, customer success stories, and long-term product vision.
The article looks at how numi was founded by Stefan Gaubatz and Moritz Krol after the COVID period exposed a clear limitation in traditional planning systems. Many companies had planning software in place, but daily disruptions, shortages, and changing lead times still forced teams to export ERP data into Excel and make operational decisions manually.
From firefighting to an ERP intelligence layer
numi's first projects focused on short-term supply chain disruptions: forecasting, replenishment optimization, material shortage management, and operational supply chain planning. The goal was not to replace ERP systems, but to add an intelligence layer on top of them so teams could make faster, better-informed decisions.
Supply Chain Magazine highlights several examples. For Bauer AG, numi helped assess how material shortages affect production and spare parts planning. For The Mobility House, numi developed forecasting software that includes external market factors such as subsidy schemes. For Refurbed, numi built an MRP-based replenishment module using reinforcement learning to predict variable lead times. According to the article, this helped reduce out-of-stocks by 80% in the Refurbed case.
A modular supply chain planning platform
The article also describes numi's move from customer-specific AI point solutions toward a standardized platform based on microservices. Today, the platform combines modules for forecasting, replenishment, inventory optimization, and supply chain execution while remaining close to the operational decisions planners make every day.
According to Supply Chain Magazine, numi's platform is now used by 17 companies. The article also notes that numi is bootstrapped and has not taken venture capital, allowing the team to build independently and with a long-term product perspective.
numi's current growth focus is mainly the DACH region, with the ambition to support more companies across Europe. We would like to thank Supply Chain Magazine Netherlands and journalist Harm Beerens for the interview and for highlighting numi's approach to AI-powered supply chain planning.
